Spacecraft Operations & Systems Integration Engineer
Overview
In this role you will support space program office operations to ensure readiness and integration of space-based systems across their lifecycle. You will act as a key interface between spacecraft operations, system developers, and factory engineering to align capabilities with mission objectives. You will monitor performance, manage anomalies, and drive data-driven improvements through metrics and dashboards. This is a mission-focused role in Chantilly, VA that emphasizes collaboration and innovative problem solving.
ResponsibilitiesSupport operational readiness, integration, sustainment, and performance of space-based systems throughout their lifecycleServe as interface between spacecraft operations, system developers, and factory engineering to ensure successful integrationSupport anomaly management, operational integration activities, system performance monitoring, and mission readiness initiativesLeverage operational data to develop performance metrics and dashboardsIdentify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and challenge conventional approaches
Key requirementsUS Citizenship with TS/SCI + Poly clearance at date of applicationBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical discipline9+ years of experience in spacecraft operations, systems integration, or related programsExperience with operational environments involving spacecraft systems, ground systems, mission planning, or C2 architecturesExperience analyzing operational data and developing metrics, dashboards, or reportsExperience with anomaly management, outage response, troubleshooting, and technical investigationsKnowledge of systems engineering, integration and test processes, and operational readinessWillingness to participate in on-call rotationscollaborationability to challenge conventional approachesstrong technical communicationtelemetry, command and control systemsmission planning systemsoperational ground architectures
