The successful candidate will be the chief accountant, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and the maintenance of the general ledger. This role also involves managing a team of four accounting and back-office operations staff, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and serving as the primary liaison with regulators. The VP will be responsible for providing the CEO and Board of Directors with relevant data analysis to support decision-making and monitoring various aspects of the company's activities. Candidates for this position should have an accounting degree, at least 5 years of related experience, and a minimum of 2 years in a financial institution or auditing financial institutions. A CPA is preferred, as is management experience. The role requires outstanding communication, presentation, and technology skills, and experience in mortgage banking accounting is beneficial. The VP will also be involved in underwriting loan applications, managing key vendor relationships, and working with the company's key stakeholders.
