Machinist Support Technician

The machinist support technician plays a crucial role in the production process by ensuringthe parts are finished and safe to ship. This position will also support machinists in thesetup and breakdown of fixtures and workpieces. The ideal candidate will learn from theircolleagues and develop into a machinist apprentice. We are actively seeking a hardworkingand self-motivated individual to fulfill these tasks.ResponsibilitiesFinish parts by hand-work processes including deburring, tapping, drilling, sanding, andpolishing.Apply finishing treatments such as rust inhibitor.Ensure parts are safe for shipping and handling.Support QC by visual inspection of parts to ensure they are completed and blemish free.Support shipping and receiving by loading, unloading, and packaging parts.Support machinists in the setup, alignment, and breakdown of workpieces.Adhere to safety procedures.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Must have strong verbal communication skillsExperience working in a machine/fabrication shop.Experience using hand tools such as grinders, sanders, and related deburring equipment.Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.Must be able to work in a variety of positions including but not limited to standing,stretching, bending, kneeling, and laying.Preferred QualificationsExperience with reading and understanding machining and fabrication drawingsExperience using overhead cranes.Forklift certificationExperience operating CNC or manual machine tools
