CAD Drafter
Job Summary:
TESS is an industry leader servicing the Mega Yacht Industry. We are seeking a Jr Electrical Engineer/CAD Drafter to join our dynamic team. The Jr Electrical Engineer/CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed electrical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers or project managers. In this role, it is crucial to ensure that projects are executed precisely and efficiently, from initial design to final implementation. Additionally, the person will be stationary/drafting for 8 hours.
The position will be Monday through Friday and is a full-time position, with benefits such as a flexible schedule, health benefits and vacation time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Create detailed 2D CAD drawings, layouts, and models based on project requirements.
· Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project specifications and requirements.
· Revise and update existing drawings to reflect changes and enhancements.
· Prepare and maintain accurate records, including technical drawings, blueprints, and -specifications.
· Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and relevant regulations.
· Provide support in the preparation of technical documents, such as manuals and installation instructions
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and construction, to ensure design feasibility.
· Participate in project meetings to discuss design issues and provide input on technical matters.
· Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the compatibility of components and materials with design specifications.
Software and Tools:
· Utilize CAD software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD) to produce high-quality designs and drawings.
· Stay updated with the latest CAD software developments and techniques to enhance drafting efficiency.
· Manage and maintain CAD file libraries and ensure proper version control.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University/College (preferred)
Post secondary degree, certificate or equivalent from a community college or technical school with 3 yrs experience working as a Drafting Electrical Engineer.
Recent graduates strongly preferred.
Minimum of 0-1 related working experience.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD) is required.
Experience with EPLAN is a plus.
Experience in Mechanical drafting is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
