Plant Manufacturing Manager
SUMMARY
The Plant Manager is responsible for site specific day-to-day leadership, management and performance of Cascade’s people and production goals. The Plant Manager is responsible for managing the site’s manufacturing performance, including customer satisfaction, transportation and logistics, and compliance with all corporate policies as well as State and local regulations.
The position oversees the development of policies and procedures relating to production, inventory & materials management, quality performance, production scheduling, manufacturing engineering, and facility maintenance.

Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production requirements, while strengthening Cascade’s competitive position and meeting customer needs.
Understand the technical aspects of manufacturing & assembly, and act as a leader and expert to staff managers/shop floor supervisors to drive operational efficiency and excellence.
Achieve manufacturing excellence through improvement techniques as determined by industry standards, market competition, and internal corporate benchmarks; maintain operational initiatives and drive accountability to meet targets.
Anticipate, identify, and respond to actual or potential constraints and develop the necessary corrective actions.
Work with purchasing specialists to ensure operational needs are met through supply chain resources, and remain knowledgeable of supply chain developments.
Establish short and long-term operating objectives that drive margin improvements.
Establish a continuous improvement culture utilizing Lean methodology resulting in sustainable processes, a highly engaged and empowered workforce, customer satisfaction through quality and on-time delivery, and targeted financial performance.
Prepare operating and cash flow budgets that support Company initiatives. Perform gap analysis and report variances and identify resolution measures.
Ensure safety and loss control programs are best-in-class and support Cascade’s culture.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
Partner with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing in new product development strategies.
Assist in recruiting, hiring and training to develop well-rounded, diverse and effective teams to ensure goals are achieved; use coaching, counseling and mentoring techniques to achieve human capital goals.
Actively promote an environment of positive employee relations with open communication channels and employee involvement. Establish and maintain a climate of trust and confidence with employees.
Create and promote a culture that ensures customer and employee satisfaction.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
University degree in fields such as engineering, applied science, manufacturing, supply chain, technical, or a related field; education focusing on durable manufacturing operations, supplier management, demand planning, warehousing, analytics, or inventory management is preferred. An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
5 – 7 years’ experience as manager, with a minimum of 2 years in a Plant Manager role in durable manufacturing environment.
Ability to engage and inspire others to deliver outstanding customer service.
Good communication skills, including written & verbal.
Personal drive and a focus on continuous improvement.
Solid business acumen to understand and leverage financials and related information.
Flexibility to accommodate limited travel, as required based on business need.
Ability to use ERP, demand planning, and analytics software applications.
Ability to use MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated experience using business intelligence and analytics’ tools to analyze data sets and distill meaningful information and present recommendations based on objective and thorough analysis.
Involvement and experience in the annual budgeting processes.
Ability to analyze and gather insights from others to implement efficient department procedures and processes with a bias for continuous improvement.
Knowledge of Human Resource management principles, including recruiting, hiring, orienting, onboarding, training, coaching, and evaluating employees.
