Credit Supervisor

SummaryResponsible for overseeing the daily operations of the credit and collection’s function. This role ensures the organization effectively manages credit risk, maintains strong customer relationships, and supports timely collection of outstanding receivables. The Credit Supervisor leads a team of credit specialists. Also working with the department manager, assisting with establishing credit policies, customer credit policies, and customer credit limits,The supervisor works cross functionally with sales, finance and customer service to support business objectives. This is a working team member role as well as supervising the local team.Key ResponsibilitiesCredit ManagementReview and approve customer credit applications and establish appropriate credit limits.Monitor customer credit exposure and recommend adjustments based on risk analysis.Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and payment histories to evaluate customer risk.Collections OversightSupervise daily collections activities to ensure timely follow-up on past-due accounts.Develop and implement effective collection strategies.Resolve complex customer account issues and disputes.Monitor aging reports and ensure reduction of delinquent accounts.Team LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop credit and collections staff.Assign workload, establish performance expectations, and monitor productivity.Provide training on credit policies, systems, and best practices.Process & ReportingPrepare and analyze accounts receivable and credit risk reports.Monitor key metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), delinquency rates, and bad debt exposure.Identify opportunities to improve credit processes and internal controls.Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with financial policies.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with sales and customer service teams to resolve customer credit concerns.Support finance leadership with credit risk assessments and recommendations.Assist in audits related to accounts receivable and credit management.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.Administration, or related field preferred.Experience5+ years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable.Skills & CompetenciesPrior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of credit analysis and risk management practicesStrong leadership and team development abilitiesProficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking ConditionsHybrid – Office Schedule (Monday & Friday Remote, Tues., Wed., Thurs., on-site).
