This role involves thorough assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient progress, ensuring timely and accurate communication with the referring practitioner to support optimal patient care.Essential Responsibilities:Conduct diagnostic evaluations for speech, language, and swallowing abilities, including hearing screenings.Prepare detailed reports of diagnostic findings with recommendations for therapy.Deliver direct speech and swallowing therapy services following a physician's plan of care, documenting patient responses.Maintain comprehensive records including evaluations, care plans, and daily therapy notes.Collaborate with other services to coordinate speech and swallowing therapy programs.Demonstrate therapy techniques to caregivers assisting patients with rehabilitation.Supervise and evaluate assistants involved in therapy programs to ensure high-quality service.Provide counseling to patients and families regarding speech, language, and swallowing disorders.Reassess patient progress regularly and adjust therapy plans as needed.Refer patients to appropriate community resources and therapy programs.Promote awareness of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders through staff education and community outreach.Maintain liaison and follow-up with community agencies.Apply clinical judgment and specialized skills tailored to patient age and diagnosis.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences or a related field.Master's degree (M.A., M.S., or M.A.T.) in Speech Language Pathology.Preferred: One year of clinical experience; however, candidates completing their Clinical Fellowship (CF) are encouraged to apply.Licensure and Certifications:Current or in-progress state licensure relevant to the region.Current or pursuing the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).Work Schedule: Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week, typically 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
