HVAC Foreman
We are looking for a skilled HVAC Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee our team of installers at various construction sites. This is a hands-on working foreman position. The HVAC Foreman is expected to actively perform installation work while simultaneously managing crew productivity, safety, materials, and jobsite coordination.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive HVAC knowledge, and a steadfast commitment to safety and efficiency. As the HVAC Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in managing project timelines, resources, and team performance to deliver outstanding results for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination:
Lead and oversee HVAC installation projects from start to finish.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to layout projects accurately.
Communicate directly with General Contractors, superintendents, and inspectors.
Prepare and submit RFIs, review submittals, and flag design conflicts early.
Participate in jobsite meetings as the company’s field representative.
- Team Leadership:
Supervise and delegate tasks to installers and helpers effectively.
Train new employees and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and skilled team environment.
Maintain open and clear communication with team members to ensure understanding of project requirements.
Directly manage and work alongside a 4–8 person installation crew.
Conduct daily foreman meetings, safety talks, and task planning.
Hold crew accountable for productivity, workmanship, and jobsite cleanliness.
- Resource Management:
Ensure adequate staffing levels to complete projects efficiently without exceeding labor budgets.
Independently generate material takeoffs from plans.
Order HVAC equipment, ductwork, and accessories with minimal oversight.
Coordinate deliveries to align with installation sequencing.
- Safety Compliance:
Enforce all safety regulations and protocols on-site.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards immediately.
Promptly submit accident reports in the event of any injuries or incidents.
- Quality Assurance:
Detail and measure custom sheet metal ductwork (rectangular, spiral, fittings).
Verify installations are compliant with plans, specs, and California codes before inspections.
Ensure work is inspection-ready at all times.
- Problem Solving:
Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and amicably.
Adjust project plans and priorities as needed due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather delays or supply shortages.
- Reporting:
Provide daily project status updates to management.
Document and communicate any changes or issues that arise
during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Degree or certification in HVAC or a related field is highly desirable.
At least 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
Minimum of 3–5 years as a Working HVAC Foreman managing crews and active installations.
Experience reviewing construction documents, submittals, and shop drawings.
Comfortable with email communication, basic reports, and documentation.
- Technical Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and installation requirements.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
- Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:
Proven experience in managing and leading teams effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Additional Skills:
Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
Ability to measure and detail custom sheet metal accurately.
Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Valid Driver’s License.
