PLC Controls Engineer
Job Description:Title: PLC Controls Engineer/Controls EngineerLocation: Mason, OH 45040 (Travelling Job)Duration: 06+ Months (with possible extension).Shift: 1st shift 8 AM–5 PM (flexible), 40–60 hours/week.Pay Rate: Between $45 to $50/hr. on W2 (All Inclusive).Will be traveling to clients’ locations throughout the country, 90 percent of the time.Expenses will need submitted weekly as Misc invoice for reimbursement.Job Summary:As a PLC Controls Engineer II, you will support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications.This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, travel-intensive role.Key Responsibilities:Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning.Support project scope, schedule, and deliverables.Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams.Help develop technical documentation (QA/QC, test plans).Participate in BUAT/UAT/FAT testing and post-installation support.Contribute to customer training and troubleshooting.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.Up to 4 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling.Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms).Experience or interest in post and parcel operations (preferred).Technical SkillsPLC & HMI: Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Wonderware Aveva Edge, FactoryTalk View.Drives & Interfaces: VFDs, scanner integration (SICK, Cognex) Cognex/SICK scanners, Machine vision systems.Software Tools: Studio 5000, RSLinx, Aveva Edge, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, B&R Automation Studio, Ignition, SOPAS, SST Profibus, Datalogic Data Man.Networking: Ethernet/IP, Profibus, WCS integration, industrial protocols.Soft Skills:Willingness to travel extensively and work in dynamic environments (~90% travel).Strong communication and documentation skills.Eagerness to learn and collaborate across teams.
