Job DescriptionDo you love working with young musicians and inspiring the next generation of singers? The Osher School of Music (OSOM) at the University of Southern Maine is thrilled to launch a brand-new Summer Junior Vocal Music Camp and is seeking talented, enthusiastic music educators and artists to join our inaugural summer camp team.This immersive camp, the Osher Junior Vocal Camp (middle school), offers students a dynamic introduction to vocal music in a collegiate setting. Campers will experience what it's like to be an Osher School of Music student, explore a range of musical styles, and discover pathways to continue their musical journey at OSOM and beyond.Camp OverviewDates: July 6 - 10, 2026Location: Crewe Center for the Arts, University of Southern MaineDaily Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.Final Performance: July 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.Participants: Junior Vocal Camp: Rising 6th - 8th gradersPositions Available:Full Chorus Director ($895/week)Musical Theatre Scene Director ($661/week)Electives Block Teachers (2 positions) ($661/week)Camp Pianist ($661/week)About the RolesCamp instructors and staff will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, high-energy, and musically rich experience for campers. Responsibilities vary by position but may include leading ensemble rehearsals, coaching vocal technique, directing musical theatre scenes, teaching elective workshops, accompanying rehearsals and performances, and collaborating with fellow instructors to support the overall camp experience.All positions contribute to the culminating performance and help foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and musical growth.
