GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under the general supervision of the Principal or designated supervisor, the Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing instructional lessons for secondary students in accordance with federal and state laws, as well as Charter School Authority guidelines. This position supports the effective operation of the school by coordinating and communicating with administrators, instructional and support staff, parents, and students. The role requires the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently, with periodic supervision or review. Background Screening Requirement: Florida law requires all school personnel to undergo a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Education's Background Screening Clearinghouse. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guides secondary students toward achieving their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social potential in a safe, inclusive, and efficient learning environment aligned with the goals of the school. Plans and delivers instruction, both individually or cooperatively, that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students. Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of department or grade-level curriculum goals and instructional objectives. Establishes a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students, fostering a culture of curiosity, participation, and mutual respect. Aligns instruction with curriculum goals by setting and clearly communicating objectives for lessons, units, and projects. Utilizes a variety of instructional methods, materials, and resources appropriate for meeting student needs and learning objectives consistent with the capabilities of all individuals or student groups involved. Effectively integrates technology to enhance instruction, student engagement, and academic outcomes. Grades tests, exams, assignments, and projects; evaluates student performance and identifies learning strengths and challenges, Provides additional support when needed, and seeks support from specialists as appropriate. Regularly monitors and assesses student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and communicating academic performance, challenges, and achievements to parents or guardians. Maintains open, consistent, and professional communication with colleagues, students, and parents or guardians to support student growth and academic success. Supports the implementation of school policies governing student conduct and promotes positive behavior and a respectful, well-managed classroom by developing fair and consistent rules and procedures to minimize disruptions and de-escalate students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Recognizes and appropriately responds to signs of student distress or abuse in accordance with school procedures and law. Plans and supervises meaningful tasks for auxiliary personnel and participates in evaluating their effectiveness in collaboration with department or grade-level leaders. Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records in accordance with laws,Charter School Authoritypolicies, and administrative regulations. Participates in staff meetings, school committees, and other collaborative initiatives; collaborates with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and instructional improvements. Engages in ongoing professional development to maintain professional licensure and certifications and remain current with educational trends and best practices. Promotes positive relationships and communication with colleagues, students, parents or guardians, and community members to enhance engagement and support student success. Adheres to the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida and complies with all school andCharter School Authoritypolicy requirements. Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement by modeling a commitment to excellence and lifelong learning. Assists with school-related activities outside the classroom, including field trips, fundraisers, before and after school duties, and lunch or hall monitoring as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Alternatives to the minimum qualifications can be made by the Board as they find appropriate and acceptable. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three (3) years of related work experience. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard computer applications. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to work effectively under the stress of deadlines, volume of workload, and multitasking requirements. Ability to organize self, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of energy in a fast-paced environment to provide efficient services. Bilingual skills are encouraged.
