Apprentice Bartender (Part-Time)
Specific Job Functions
Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail order
Prepare and serve cocktails to customers following hotel guidelines
Clean and organize bar to beverage department standards
Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels
Provide exceptional service to customers
Follow departmental cash handling policies and procedures
Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers
Knowledge of wine and champagne service at table games
Work station must be maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shift
Garnish drinks
Ensure correct health and sanitation practices are followed
Ensure the correct glassware / stemware is used according to Beverage Department standards
Acknowledge every guest with a prompt and friendly greeting
Answer questions related to property correctly and professionally
Handle cash, credit cards and room charges in accordance with departmental procedures
Assist new employees with training and answering questions
Check ID's if the guest appears to be under 30
Replace dirty ashtrays by capping off ashtrays with a clean ashtray
React to the needs of management for special host requests
Inform management of any problems or concerns
Be ethical and professional at all times
Communicate with Management to keep them informed of special requests from a guest
Answer telephone using the property telephone etiquette standards
Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
Qualifications
Minimum one year bartending experience in a high-volume hotel / restaurant required
Pleasing personality and ability to communicate with customers
Communicate effectively in English both verbally and written forms
Knowledge of ABC laws
Professional appearance demeanor a must
