PROJECT COST ESTIMATORWORK LOCATION: LOS ANGELES, CA Minimum RequirementsRequired Experience:Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School Construction.Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costsExperience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change ordersAbility to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differencesAbility to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimates the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposalGood oral and written communication skillsFact-find and in-depth skillsRequired Education:Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, engineering, or construction managementDuties:Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating positionProvides support in price negotiationsPrepares claim analysis and estimatesPrepares detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketchesAssists in reviewing contractor's claims and proposals for merit and accountabilityConducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services
