Title: Integration DeveloperDuration: FTE/PermanetLocation: remote - local to NY/NJ to go onsite as neededSalary: 115k-135kA direct client is looking for a mid-level Integration Developer to support the design, development, and operation of cloud-based integration solutions. This role is focused on building and maintaining APIs and services in a modern AWS environment, with a strong emphasis on Java and Spring Boot.This is a hands-on engineering role within an Agile team, working across development, cloud, and operations to deliver scalable and reliable integrations. The ideal candidate has practical experience building applications, understands how systems connect, and can clearly explain their work.Key ResponsibilitiesIntegration DevelopmentDesign, build, and support API-driven integration solutions aligned with business needsDevelop services using Java (Spring Boot) and deploy them in AWS environmentsTranslate high-level designs into clear, maintainable technical implementationsApply integration patterns and best practices to ensure scalability and reliabilityCloud & DeploymentBuild and deploy applications using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, EC2, containers)Support serverless and cloud-native architecturesContribute to infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation (e.g., Terraform, AWS SAM)Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth integration of cloud servicesOperations & SupportTroubleshoot and resolve production issues across applications and infrastructureMonitor system performance and implement basic observability practicesParticipate in incident response and ongoing system supportMaintain documentation for systems, processes, and deploymentsCollaborationWork closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholdersParticipate in Agile ceremonies (planning, estimation, backlog refinement)Share knowledge and contribute to team best practicesProvide guidance and code reviews where appropriateRequired Qualifications3–5 years of experience in software engineering, integration, or backend developmentStrong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot)Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based deploymentsExposure to services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, or containersExperience building or supporting APIs and integration solutionsUnderstanding of microservices and service-based architectureAbility to clearly explain technical work, design decisions, and deploymentsStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred / Nice to HaveExposure to Terraform, AWS SAM, or serverless frameworksFamiliarity with Python or Node.jsExperience with containers (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)Experience with MuleSoft or Apache Camel (not required)Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog)AWS certifications
