Aircraft TechnicianThis role performs line and overnight hangar maintenance on Boeing Dreamlifter (747-400) aircraft at the Charleston International Airport (CHS) within a Boeing facility. You will work primarily night shifts, support a variety of Boeing aircraft types, and receive basic inspection training while contributing to safe and reliable aircraft operations in a growing maintenance station.ResponsibilitiesPerform line maintenance on Boeing Dreamlifter (747-400) aircraft at CHS, ensuring aircraft are safe and ready for scheduled operations.Carry out overnight hangar maintenance tasks, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.Support maintenance activities on additional Boeing aircraft platforms such as 737, 777, and 787, as assigned.Use approved tools, manuals, and documentation to complete maintenance tasks accurately and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.Assist with and participate in basic inspection training to expand inspection capabilities and technical proficiency.Document all maintenance activities clearly and accurately in maintenance records and logbooks.Collaborate with other technicians and station personnel to coordinate work, share information, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.Follow all safety procedures, facility rules, and quality standards while working on the flight line and in the hangar environment.Support both line and hangar operations on a rotating schedule, including various night shift hours as required by operational needs.Obtain and maintain a Boeing badge and comply with all security and access requirements within the Boeing facility.Essential SkillsHold an aviation maintenance license (A license required).Possess or be eligible for an A&P license; an active A&P license is strongly preferred.Experience working on Boeing aircraft platforms, preferably including Boeing 747, 737, 777, or 787 models, or regional aircraft.Ability to perform aircraft line and hangar maintenance in accordance with regulatory and company procedures.Capability to work night shifts, including typical hours of 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.Ability to obtain and maintain a Boeing badge for access to the facility.Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and powerplant maintenance skills.Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals, maintenance documentation, and work instructions.Willingness to work a 4-on, 3-off schedule and remain flexible for day or night assignments as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsMid-level aircraft maintenance experience, with preference for experience on any Boeing model or regional aircraft.Previous line maintenance experience at a commercial airport station.Experience as a powerplant mechanic in a commercial or cargo environment.Interest in expanding skills through basic inspection training and ongoing technical development.Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills within a station environment.Adaptability to a growing operation with evolving workload and responsibilities.Contract-to-hire mindset with interest in transitioning to a long-term role after approximately six months.Why Work Here?Join a growing maintenance station within a stable air cargo industry that offers long-term security and opportunities to advance your skills on multiple Boeing aircraft types. The station has been operating since 2021 and is growing from a 19-person team toward approximately 2729 mechanics, creating a dynamic and collaborative environment. The schedule follows a 4-on, 3-off pattern, with primary coverage on night shifts typically from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and requires openness to both day and night assignments as operational needs change. The work involves operating in an active flight line and hangar setting with standard aviation maintenance tools, equipment, and safety procedures, and requires adherence to airport and facility security requirements, including maintaining a Boeing badge.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
