Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the administration, accreditation, and sustainment of secure enterprise infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems. This role is responsible for Windows and Linux systems engineering, virtualization, security-controlled environments, certificate management, storage administration, and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting secure enterprise Windows environments, virtualization platforms, Active Directory infrastructure, and security accreditation processes within highly secure government environments.
Responsibilities
Design, administer, and maintain secure Windows and Linux server environments supporting enterprise applications
Manage Microsoft SQL Server databases, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Hyper‑V environments, and enterprise virtualization infrastructure
Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for security‑controlled systems, including accreditation documentation and compliance requirements
Administer Windows Server environments, virtual machine clusters, and enterprise backup and recovery solutions
Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to improve system administration and operational efficiency
Manage enterprise certificate services for users, servers, and service accounts
Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Group Policy, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and enterprise security settings
Administer virtualization platforms including Hyper‑V and VMware
Support secure data transfers and maintain the integrity of security‑controlled environments
Administer and maintain enterprise storage solutions, including NetApp Storage Area Networks (SANs)
Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to maintain secure and highly available infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, operating system, virtualization, and storage issues
Develop and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and operational guidelines
Cross‑train team members and provide technical mentorship as needed
Support IT program management activities and enterprise infrastructure initiatives
Required Qualifications
Must be fully cleared with a recent polygraph
Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this posting
Demonstrated experience with Windows systems engineering and administration
Experience administering:
Microsoft SQL Server
Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS)
Hyper‑V virtual environments
Virtual machine clusters
Microsoft Data Protection Manager
PowerShell scripting
Experience supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes for security‑controlled systems
Experience administering Linux operating systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills supporting enterprise infrastructure
Experience supporting secure government or enterprise IT environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting security‑controlled systems, enterprise hardware security modules, software, and secure data architectures
Experience serving as a Data Transfer Officer within secure environments
Experience administering Oracle Linux systems
Experience administering Cisco networking equipment and security appliances, including:
Cisco ASA
Cisco Stealthwatch
Cisco Tetration
Experience managing NetApp Storage Area Networks (SANs)
Experience managing enterprise certificate infrastructures
Experience cross‑training and mentoring technical teams
Experience handling sensitive information while exercising sound judgment and discretion
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator certification
Experience supporting Sponsor‑specific security‑controlled systems and architectures
Experience supporting Sponsor Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes
Experience with IT Program Management and enterprise infrastructure support
