Grant Writer

The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a vital role in helping The Gillespie Center secure funding to support programs, operations, and special initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, research, and making a tangible impact in the lives of seniors. The Grant Writer will work closely with the Executive Director and development team to identify funding opportunities and craft compelling proposals. Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources. Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents. Collaborate with Center Director to gather relevant program and organizational information needed for proposals. Maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements. Assist in preparing progress and final reports for awarded grants. Help develop and maintain templates, data, and success stories for future applications. Ensure all grant materials align with The Gillespie Center's mission and goals. QualificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong research and organizational abilities. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Experience in nonprofit grant writing, fundraising, or related field preferred (but not required). Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Google Workspace. Passion for supporting seniors and commitment to the mission of The Gillespie Center. Commitment & ScheduleFlexible schedule; approximately 5 hours per week.
