Location: Huntsville Alabama at Redstone Arsenal$3,000 Relocation Benefits / 401k Test EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Test Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of secure, mission-critical software systems operating in regulated, high-reliability environments. This role focuses on requirements-based testing, system verification, and validation activities across the full software lifecycle.Test Engineers work closely with software developers, system engineers, and stakeholders to ensure systems meet functional, performance, and compliance requirements, producing high-quality, reliable solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test procedures based on system and software requirementsPerform functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing for software applications and servicesValidate system behavior, data flows, and interfaces across integrated componentsIdentify, document, and track defects, anomalies, and test results through resolutionSupport requirements verification and validation (V&V) activitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including: Software engineersSystem engineersCybersecurity and compliance teamsDevOps and infrastructure teams Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint reviews, planning sessions, and technical demonstrationsSupport test execution in development, test, and pre-production environmentsAssist with test automation efforts where applicableEnsure testing activities align with security, compliance, and operational standards Required Technical SkillsTest Engineering / QA Experience developing and executing formal test plans and proceduresStrong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and test methodologiesExperience validating systems against documented requirementsExperience tracking defects using tools such as JIRA or equivalent Technical & Systems Knowledge Familiarity with software applications built on modern technology stacksExperience testing data-driven applications, APIs, or service-based architecturesAbility to analyze logs, system behavior, and test results to isolate issuesWorking knowledge of SQL or database-backed systems Tools & Environment Experience working in controlled or regulated environmentsFamiliarity with version control systems (Git or equivalent)Exposure to test automation tools or frameworks is a plus Preferred / Bonus Qualifications Experience testing .NET, Java, or web-based applicationsExperience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman or similar)Experience supporting enterprise or government systemsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testingExperience with performance, load, or security testingActive or eligible U.S. security clearance Work Environment High-impact role supporting enterprise-scale software systemsCollaboration with software engineers, architects, and mission stakeholdersStructured development and testing processesWork performed in support of secure, mission-critical operations Why This RoleThis role offers engineers the opportunity to: Play a critical role in delivering reliable, high-quality software systemsWork closely with development and system teams across the full lifecycleGain exposure to complex, real-world systemsGrow technically while supporting high-impact, mission-focused work
