Community Program ManagerLocation: San Francisco, CA preferredWork Arrangement: Hybrid, 2–3 days/week onsiteDuration: 6-month contractAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a Community Program Manager to help build and operate programs that connect our most engaged users, developers, and enterprise practitioners with each other and with the teams building Claude.This is a community programs generalist role. You’ll help run member programs, manage online communities, establish scalable operational systems, and create structured ways for community members to provide meaningful product feedback.The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working directly with community members and building the systems behind the scenes. You’ll bring structure to ambiguous work, build processes where they don’t yet exist, and help turn community insight into product impact.What You’ll DoCommunity Program OperationsRun day-to-day operations for ambassador, champion, and other community member programsManage applications, onboarding, communications, recognition, and ongoing engagementBuild scalable processes, workflows, tooling, automation, and documentationCreate playbooks and systems that allow programs to grow while maintaining qualityDevelop strong relationships with community members and understand their needs, goals, and experiencesProduct Feedback & User ProgramsBuild and operate structured product feedback, beta, and user-testing programsRecruit and match community members to product feedback opportunitiesDesign feedback collection through surveys, discussion threads, interviews, live sessions, and feature testingSynthesize qualitative feedback into clear, actionable readouts for Product and Research teamsPartner with Product, Research, Marketing, and other internal teams to manage feedback requests and expectationsClose the loop with community members and communicate how their feedback was usedOnline Community ManagementHelp manage communities across platforms such as Discord and RedditModerate conversations and maintain a healthy, welcoming community environmentEngage directly with members and surface important discussions, trends, and sentimentHandle sensitive situations with sound judgmentIdentify opportunities to improve community engagement and member experienceProgram Measurement & ImprovementTrack program health, participation, engagement, feedback throughput, and outcomesIdentify what is working and what isn'tRecommend improvements to community programs and operating processesContinuously improve the systems that allow community programs to scaleBasic QualificationsExperience managing a developer community or enterprise/B2B customer community programExperience with programs such as ambassador, advocate, champion, MVP, or customer communitiesExperience building operational systems including intake workflows, member tracking, documentation, and program processesExperience running beta programs, structured feedback cycles, user testing, or similar external-participant programsHands-on experience managing or moderating an online community using platforms such as Discord, Reddit, Slack, or forumsExcellent written communication and the ability to turn qualitative community input into concise, decision-ready summariesExperience using community and collaboration tools, including moderation tools, surveys/forms, spreadsheets, databases, or automation platformsComfortable working in ambiguous environments and creating structure where processes are not yet establishedPreferred QualificationsExperience managing both developer and enterprise/B2B communitiesExperience partnering directly with Product, Research, Engineering, or MarketingExperience managing early-access, trusted-tester, beta, or NDA-based programsExperience building a community program from an early stage through meaningful growthTechnical fluency with AI tools and automationExperience using AI to improve community operations and workflowsStrong understanding of community health, engagement, feedback, and program metricsInterest in building AI that is safe, reliable, and beneficial
