Assistant Tasting Room Manager
Description:
The Assistant Tasting Room Manager will serve an essential role on the Tasting Room Management team. We are searching for a friendly, energetic, motivated individual who will thrive in a fast-paced hospitality-focused and team-oriented environment.
Essential Functions:
Managing scheduling for Tasting Room and majority of customer facing staff (40+ employees)
Review and approval of time sheet corrections
Manage visitor calendar; in collaboration with staff scheduling, establishes daily reservation availability
Communicates scheduling, updates, and changes to all staff including tour schedules
Responsible for the day-to-day management of Tasting Room operations and retail wine sales
Conducts training for different teams (Tasting Room, Cashiers, Greeters, etc.) and cultivates a high-performance culture
Manage prompt handling of customer concerns in a positive manner with appropriate resolution
Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization
Projects a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction
Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be a team leader with supervisory or management experience
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
Excellent customer service skills, including ability to anticipate customer needs and respond effectively
Focus on providing highest quality guest experience; building customer loyalty, selling wine, and sign-up wine club members
Ability to work quickly and under pressure
Must have ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must possess a valid California Driver’s license and have reliable transportation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a must
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Point of Sale/Retail software experience
Things that will set you apart:
Tasting Room/Restaurant management experience of 20 or more employees
Outgoing and passionate about wine, with continuously increasing knowledge of wine and wine industry
Experience using Wine Direct
Experience using web-based reservation system
Bilingual in Spanish (additional languages a plus)
Reports to: VP of Operations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, cold warehouse conditions, and varying degrees of heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment and fumes or airborne particles.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Pay is DOE $30 - $35 per hour.
