COLD HEADER OPERATOR

We are looking for skilled Cold Header Operators to join our production team. This role is essential for setting up, running, and maintaining high-precision cold heading machines to ensure every product meets or exceeds customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Machine Setup & Configuration: Select and install proper tooling and wire (by size and type) in accordance with machine manufacturer recommendations, customer specifications, and company protocol. Production Oversight: Monitor machine operations to ensure parts conform to specification sheets or prints, replacing wire and repairing or replacing tooling as needed. Quality Control & Technical Inspection: Perform regular in-process inspections by measuring at least 10 parts per machine every hour, or sooner as needed, using various measuring and magnifying devices to ensure zero dimensional or visual defects. Preventative Maintenance & Minor Repair: Execute routine maintenance per manufacturer recommendations and perform minor repairs, including replacing damaged fasteners, repairing broken oil lines, and maintaining proper lubrication levels. Material & Parts Management: Properly identify and tag compliant parts, keeping them strictly separate from non-compliant parts, and transport them to the shipping department using a forklift, pallet jack, or other approved method. Facility & Equipment Standards: Maintain a professional workspace by keeping machines and surrounding areas clean and free of oil drips, debris, and unnecessary tools, while ensuring all machine safeties are in proper working order. Qualifications & Needs Mechanical Expertise: Must possess a strong mechanical background and proficient mechanical skills to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Industry Experience: Prior experience in cold heading is preferred, along with the ability to work from equipment manuals, procedures, prints, and instructions. Technical Literacy: Ability to read and understand shop blueprints and maintain accurate quality records. Independence & Drive: Proven ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. Communication Skills: Suitable verbal and written skills to coordinate effectively with coworkers and vendors. Reliability: High level of punctuality and reliability is required. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Physical Stamina: Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Safety & Compliance: Must maintain compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and OSHA-recognized safety practices. Policy: A drug-free workplace is strictly enforced.
