Construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are experienced in commercial construction in EXCAVATION, PAVING, & UTILITY. Our team is looking for an experienced excavation construction superintendent to manage our projects in excavation, paving, and utilities. You'll supervise our staff (Crews) and ensure projects are delivered on time. As a superintendent, your job duties will also include allocating and monitoring budgets.This role requires excellent communication skills, as you'll collaborate with various people, such as foremans, construction workers, architects and engineers. In order to succeed, it's important to know how to implement quality, health, and safety standards onsite.If you are organized, able to work well under pressure and have experience in this field, we'd like to meet you.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needsSet performance goals and deadlinesPlan construction processesEstimate costs and ensure the project is on budgetSupervise staff and provide constructive feedbackMonitor and report on project progressPlan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authoritiesImplement safety and quality guidelinesOrder the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenanceKeep track of material stock and ordersEnsure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderlyResolve on-site issues and emergenciesRequirements and skillsPrevious experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar rolePrevious experience in a field to guide the foreman when required and resolve problems when neededKnowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sitesIn-depth understanding of construction operations and processesFamiliarity with CAD softwareProficiency in MS OfficeOrganizational and time-management skillsAbility to lead and inspireDegree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field; Master's degree is a plus5+ years minimum experienceThis is an immediate opening.
