Afterschool program assistant
General Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Programming, the Bilingual After School Assistant and Tutor is responsible for maintaining a safe, fun, and nurturing work environment for students in 6-12 grades, and for leading activities that engage youth and build community.
Qualifications:
Has a strong interest in working with and respect for people from diverse cultures. Experience in same is preferred.
Ability to remain poised, positive, and encouraging in a busy work environment.
Some college preferred.
Computer literate and can demonstrate skills in Windows Office Suite
Strong academic skills
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Demonstrated experience building cross-cultural relationships
Job Requirements
Maintain a quiet, inviting homework environment for the youth
Ability to assist with tutoring and/or homework as needed
Maintain records of students and volunteers in attendance each day
Plan and implement activities that engage youth and build community.

Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
