Partnership Taxation Manager (Operating)As a Partnership Taxation Manager (Operating), you will conduct primary and secondary reviews of complex partnership tax returns and provide tax consulting services to operating partnership clients. You will collaborate closely with the Partnership Tax team to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-value tax solutions, with a strong focus on quality, client service, and partnership taxation under Subchapter K. From day one, you will be supported by robust tools, resources, and a collaborative environment designed to help you thrive and grow confidently.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform primary and secondary reviews of complex partnership, joint venture, and non-corporate entity tax returns
Evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage IRC 704(b) capital accounts
Manage multiple client service teams on engagements; plan, execute, and complete tax projects across various industries
Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, including partnership structuring, entity formation, and M&A-related tax matters
Design and implement tax-planning strategies while managing engagement budgets and timelines
Research and consult on complex tax matters, primarily related to Subchapter K partnership taxation
Utilize tax-related software and research tools to prepare, review, and process returns
Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
Maintain proactive client communication to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and strengthen client relationships
Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff; conduct engagement-level and year-end performance reviews
Support business development activities, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client pursuits
Perform other duties as assigned
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA certification (Required)
Minimum 610 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industry
Strong experience in partnership taxation with a focus on Subchapter K
Ability to work in-office 3 days per week (Hybrid model)
Ability to travel as business needs require
Preferred ExperienceExperience with partnership structuring, entity formation, and mergers & acquisitions
Required Skills & CompetenciesAdvanced knowledge of US GAAP, partnership returns, joint ventures, and non-corporate entity taxation
Strong understanding of IRC Subchapter K partnership taxation and 704(b) capital accounts
Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Proven leadership skills, including recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring professionals
Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
