Shop Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Manager/Mechanic to oversee daily operations in our workshop. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for lawn and garden maintenance. As the Shop Manager, you will lead a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality service and efficient workflow while maintaining a safe and organized environment. Responsibilities - Supervise daily shop operations, including scheduling and assigning tasks to technicians. - Ensure all vehicle maintenance and repair work is performed to the highest standards. - Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary. - Maintain shop equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition. - Train and mentor staff on best practices for vehicle maintenance and use of tools. - Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. - Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure compliance with quality standards. - Manage customer interactions, addressing concerns and providing excellent service. Requirements - Proven experience in a mechanical or automotive environment, with strong knowledge of lawn and garden equipment and vehicle maintenance. - Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectively. - Familiarity with diagnostic equipment is preferred. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. - High school diploma or equivalent; further technical education is a plus.
