The organization also works to preserve and promote Maya language and cultural values while acting as a bridge of communication between the community and local authorities, consulates, and policymakers. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to lead community engagement initiatives, manage programs, and foster strong partnerships within diverse communities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing innovative programs, supervising team members, and collaborating with community stakeholders to enhance outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for social work, excellent organizational skills, and experience working with underserved populations. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee community programs that support Maya families and culturally diverse populations Manage volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition to ensure effective program delivery Coordinate with community partners, schools, health providers, and local agencies to strengthen outreach efforts Lead community events, workshops, and public speaking engagements to promote program awareness and engagement Collect data on program outcomes, prepare reports, and analyze trends to inform continuous improvement Manage social media platforms and marketing materials to boost visibility of programs and initiatives Provide culturally sensitive client communication and support addiction counseling or social work services as needed Requirements Proven experience in volunteer management, supervising teams, or community outreach roles Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively Experience in program development, project management, marketing, and data collection techniques Knowledge of social media management tools and technical proficiency in office software applications Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in administrative tasks such as recruiting or fundraising Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and demonstrate leadership qualities Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Maya languages with experience working with underserved communities Background in social work, public health, grassroots organizing or youth program teaching is highly desirable familiarity with addiction counseling or mental health support are a plus Join us at Asociacion Mayab to empower communities through impactful programs that honor cultural heritage while fostering growth.
