Quality Engineer
We are searching for an experienced Quality Engineer at our Wilmington, NC facility, HMF Express Division. This position is responsible for, but not limited to: shop floor quality program, shop floor quality dispositions, incoming inspection, vendor quality compliance and audits, in field quality issue resolution, gauge and fixture tracking and calibration program. The Quality engineer will be responsible for tracking all Non-Conformance costs and establishing a program to solve the issues, through root cause analysis using Lean Manufacturing tools. The quality engineer will also support and maintain processes control documentation, participate in continuous improvement activities. Critical thinking, problem solving skills and high mechanical aptitude are a must.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesIdentify and execute continuous improvement projects (focused on reduction of internal and external nonconformance)Owns Scrap Reporting process and program for scrap reductionOwns Internal and External Quality Control programOwns the Vendor Quality Control and Incoming Inspection programResponsible for Customer Service Support on Quality related issuesResponsible for Shop Floor Support on Quality related issuesDevelops and oversees Procedure Documentation and Control PlansRequired QualificationsStructured problem-solving skills including root cause analysisBasic understanding of ERP systems and general business terminologyUnderstanding of Lean Enterprise, 5S, PDCA, root cause analysisExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to work with customers (internal and external) to resolve quality issuesExperience working with vendors to improve their quality systems and resolve issuesGood interpersonal skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment, and strong communication skills (written and oral)Good mechanical/technical skillsSalary, ExemptAnnual SalaryOur company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.Please no Third-party candidates or phone calls**
