Material Handler

Job Title: Material Handler Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility to support production operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials are delivered to the correct departments—including laser, CNC forming, welding, spot welding, robotic welding, and powder coating—according to production schedules and work orders. Key Responsibilities Load, unload, and transport materials, parts, and finished goods between departments using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, or other material handling equipment. Ensure all materials are accurately labeled, staged, and delivered to the correct work area based on production requirements. Maintain organized and accurate inventory of raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods. Verify material quantities and part numbers against work orders Support production teams by ensuring timely material flow to and from fabrication, forming, welding, and powder coating areas. Assist with packaging and preparation of finished products for shipping or storage. Follow all safety procedures when operating material handling equipment and working near production machinery. Report material shortages, quality issues, or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and company standards. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow and inventory management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred. Previous Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification. Basic computer knowledge & understanding Ability to read and understand work orders, part labels, and production schedules. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. Safety-conscious and able to work effectively as part of a team. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery such as lasers, CNC forming machines, welders, and powder coating equipment. Requires wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). May involve exposure to moderate noise, dust, and temperature variations.
