Planview Solution Architect / System Administrator
Responsibilities:
Administration and Configuration: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Planview Portfolio Management tool.
Lead Workflow updates and other improvements to the system
Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve user queries related to Planview.
Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing users. Create and maintain documentation for Planview configurations, processes, and workflows.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the tool aligns with business processes and objectives . Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement best practices for project and portfolio management.
Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor tool usage and performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend enhancements or new features.
Stay Updated: Keep up with Planview updates and industry trends to ensure the tool remains current and effective. Take initiative and interest in our technology stack and actively work to suggest improvements for our ways of working.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Planview Administrator, with a strong understanding of project and portfolio management principles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in configuring and administering Planview, including modules such as Portfolios, Finance, ICP, Strategy, Product Outcomes, ProjectPlace and AgilePlace . Experience with data integration and reporting tools like Power BI is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
This person will be responsible for maintaining the Planview application and data. Some organizations will have a 'global' administrator and one or more department level administrators. Th is person would also be the Process Architect who is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Lifecycle Models, Configured Screens, Scripted Dialogs, and Stage Gate management or provide direction to the Planview Administrator on these topics.
The Senior Planview Portfolios Administrator must develop a solid understanding of how the organization manages work and resources and a thorough understanding of the processes and methodologies supporting the organization's management practices . Experience in understanding business processes, change management preferred.
This person will own iterative improvements to the Planview system. They would be able to engage the Policy Governance Board and explain the asks for improvements that have been made by stakeholders as how they relate to the existing configuration and what the impacts would be. This person will own the Jira Ticketing System and keep all tickets up to date, proactively tracking updates to tickets ensuring that they do not sit without action for several days . The System Admin will create the Planview Release Notes, lead the User Group meetings and help users as needed. They will also work with the Center of Excellence group of Super Users on piloting new features and capabilities. They will be required to train new users and create training videos so that we have customized work instructions for the Axcelis configuration.
This Senior Planview Portfolios Administrator would manage all Planview users . This may include either maintaining the system themselves, or as the Head Admin leading other Admins to maintain and manage the software, administer ing resource and user changes, support ing weekly time reporting and integration of data, and generate routine and ad hoc reports . Any collateral duties such as developing and maintaining metrics or other project office duties will ease this effort. Integrations with other systems, such as User/Resource system of truth can impact the administration needs as well.
The typical learning curve for this position is 1-3 months, with a portion of the role being dedicated to ongoing training in the platform and advocating for updates to key stakeholders. The candidate will ideally have already had considerable Planview Training and experience, and they will continue to take advanced classes in these areas to support generating these skills.
