Customer Service Rep

Customer Service Representative Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. (SCI), a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Customer Service Representative in Mt. Prospect, IL. The position is responsible for a broad range of Customer Service activities.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Communicates with Customers by talking with customers by phone or in person to ensure the best service possible; by answering customer questions and investigating and correcting errors, involving customer and company records; by handling and resolving customer complaints, special orders, or returns via phone or mail; by answering customers' questions regarding product or service and operation or maintenance; and by providing information regarding pricing, changes in service, back orders when information is available, discontinuance, and shipping.Processes Purchase Orders by receiving and processing orders; by investigating problems with orders; by processing corrections; and by creating and sending customer invoices.Supports Sales by soliciting sales of new or additional services or products, as directed by Management; and by interviewing customers to obtain information and explain available services.Coordinates Service with Other Departments by coordinating customers' service needs with other departments as required to ensure customer satisfaction; by addressing complaints concerning billing or services rendered; and by referring complaints of service or product failure to appropriate departments for investigation.Determines Product Availability by checking stock; and by communicating with the Supervisor regarding product availability.Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDSix months to one year of work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience/trainingEffective management of time and resources, strong organizational skills, effective communication and compliance with established policies and proceduresExcellent computer skills including Outlook and ExcelPay Rate: $19 20 per hourAbout Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc.: One of the largest carbide manufacturers in the world, Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc.
