Job Title: DrafterJob DescriptionJoin our team as a Drafter, where you will play a pivotal role in creating production-ready engineering drawings for an advanced Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) designed for military and defense applications. Your expertise will contribute to the development and refinement of our documentation processes and standards.ResponsibilitiesDesign and model parts using SolidWorks.Collaborate directly with suppliers on fabrication, carbon fiber components, tooling, and molds.Create and approve engineering drawings, implement design changes, and manage change orders.Oversee supplier progress, review first articles, reconcile discrepancies, and release parts to production.Ensure timely execution of design and integration to meet project deadlines.Essential Skills3+ years of SolidWorks experience.Aviation experience, specifically with carbon fiber.Experience with Bills of Materials (BOM), part number schemes.U.S. citizenship.Additional Skills & Qualifications* UAV flying experience is a plus.Work EnvironmentYou will be the sole drafter, working alongside a mechanical engineer, a configuration manager, and an external team focused on design. Additionally, you will collaborate with 2-3 electrical technicians and another electrical engineer. The position is based on-site with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm, offering some flexibility. Occasionally, weekend work may be required when approaching deadlines, although this is not typical. Rare travel to suppliers may be necessary.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Howell, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $45.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
