They plan, organize and recommend strategies in ensuring that the product is developed successfully, in accordance with all specifications. They supervise teams that work in operations and product development.Ensure safe, efficient production with minimum wasteMaintain established quality standards, machine efficiencies, and production levelsCommunicate these standards to staffTrain employees and provide continuous training, including cross training, for each crew memberEnsure the performance and documentation of quality control checksMaintain materials necessary to perform production dutiesCoordinate with supervision and maintenance on any necessary repairs or preventive maintenance and document with work ordersKnow proper operating procedures for each position in the Converting DepartmentEstablish high morale among subordinates by displaying fairness, consistency, and interest in employee problemsProcess all reports completely, accurately, and in a timely mannerImprove managerial skills by enrolling and attending seminars and technical courses, with the approval of your managerCommunicate with appropriate supervisory personnel to avoid confusion or problems at shift changesImplement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including union contract, safety program, and good housekeepingFollow LOTO procedures for all machinesLearn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SW employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.Additional duties may be assigned by managementHigh school diploma or GEDAble to speak, read, comprehend, and write legibly in EnglishAble to lift 25-50 lbs. on a consistent basisRead a tape measure with speed and accuracyRead and follow instructions on factory mastersHave a working telephone number on record with Human Resources, Corrugator Superintendent/Supervisor, and Production Supervisor/Manager at all timesQualified Converting OperatorPrior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred6 months' experience as a Converting Operator is preferredSupervisory experience as a proven manager/lead man of at least 5 people, preferredCandidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
