Heavy Equipment Excavator Operator
Job Description
The heavy equipment operator operates a variety of contractor equipment and trucks used in construction, maintenance and repair activities and performs a variety of tasks. An operator should be able to operate trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies. Works and assists crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, moving material, and any related work asked of them. Operators must perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, clean equipment, and refers defects/repairs that need done to their supervisor
DirtWorks Drainage currently utilizes the following pieces of equipment and attachments to complete its project workloads. Additional equipment may be used as individual projects may require non-standard equipment.
Excavators: Jack hammer, tamper, ditch bucket, and tooth bucket - Able to excavate to grade/final grade.
T-1 Operator (7-10 Years’ Experience Operating Heavy Equipment on various jobsites as an Operator):
Outstanding ability to operate all utilized equipment with extreme efficiency
Outstanding ability to operate on vary grades and terrain
Ability to understand and set required grades and install various installations per engineered blueprints matting, etc.
Outstanding ability to keep work area and equipment clean by disposing of scrap, refuse, and excess material.
Outstanding ability to communicate with foremen and construction team
Outstanding ability to track time, material, and progress
Outstanding ability to report damages and/or maintenance needs
Consistently shows exemplary operating skills
Must exhibit discipline and work with excellence in the everyday performance of assigned task
