Contribute to the discussion with the local EHS staff and/or stakeholder by providing EHS ideas or recommendations to mitigate the risk or resolve the problem.Conduct risk assessments of site/lab processes and implement continuous improvement actions which will ensure EHS compliance of our site operations in a proactive manner.II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:List all major responsibilities of the position in order of importance and priority to the overall job. Describe the outcome that must be produced in accomplishing the job. Each supports the overall purpose of the job.Develop, revise, and prepare EHS training content and standard operating procedures based on local state requirements and internal company EHS requirements.Support the local EHS team with EHS Incident Investigations and assist with implementing appropriate EHS corrective and preventive actions and recommendations.Lead and conduct EHS risk assessments of site/lab processes and equipment (e.g. machine guarding survey, office ergonomic evaluation) and engage with stakeholders on developing appropriate actions and recommendations to mitigate risk.Research and recommend EHS technical guidance or solutions to assure compliance with regulatory and internal company requirements and to address the EHS problem or concern or program gap.Conduct laboratory safety inspections, document the inspection findings and recommendations, and issue inspection report to the respective stakeholders.Assist with EHS record retention and archiving needs per Client internal records information management requirements.Conduct an audit of existing laboratory signage for accuracy and compliance with local Hazard Communication requirements.Support tasks related to maintaining compliance with our local Emergency Preparedness program requirements (e.g. updating emergency response volunteer roster, conduct training on basic site emergency response procedures, review and update emergency response training content, support emergency drill events)IV. NATURE AND SCOPE:Scope of Authority:Job Accountability:This position is responsible for helping the local EHS team with ensuring safety of the employees, assuring a safe working environment, protecting the environment and the property, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the team with regulatory inspections conducted by local agencies (e.g. San Mateo County Environmental Health, local Certified Unified Protection Agency inspections).
