3:00PM ‐ 3:00AM
Every third weekend and holiday
Responsibilities
Consistently meets or exceeds expectations for a Registered Nurse including the use of Nursing Process to assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care; evidence‐based practice; patient‐centered care; education for patients and families; administration of medications; collaboration with the health care team, productivity and effective resources utilization; participation in Shared Governance; support of a learning environment; and professional development.
Collaborates with the Charge Nurse regarding patient care assignments.
Functions as a consultant for unit nursing staff and a liaison for interdisciplinary team members.
Coordinates staff scheduling.
Partners with the Nurse Manager to lead performance improvement initiatives, ensure patient and staff safety, and resolve any patient or unit issues.
Plans and or participates in the orientation of new personnel.
Provides direction to students and faculty.
Plans, develops and provides unit education in conjunction with the Nurse Manager.
Participates in performance evaluation by providing feedback to the Nurse Manager.
Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Preferred:
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.
Two (2) years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Previous Charge Nurse experience.
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
Preferred:
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
Relevant skills certification (CPR, NRP, PALS, etc..).
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air‐conditioned and heated.
Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. xtnlbfm
PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
