Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS, Terraform, Gitlab)

Position SummaryWe are seeking a senior, solution-oriented DevOps/Cloud Engineer who can translate high-level requirements into scalable, production-ready AWS architectures, establish and enforce platform best practices, and lead the delivery of robust, high-quality solutions that elevate engineering standards across the organization. This role is not focused on managing tools or pipelines alone. The ideal candidate can own the full lifecycle of infrastructure solutioning, from initial design through implementation, with a focus on simplicity, reliability, and maintainability.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Translate high-level requirements into working AWS infrastructure designs Independently design and implement public-facing web architectures and secure network topologies Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code Ensure systems are secure, observable, and cost-efficient Make practical tradeoff decisions between serverless vs EC2, managed vs custom Work closely with development and leadership to solution, not just execute Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering (10+ preferred), with a strong track record supporting production-grade, enterprise-scale environments Deep AWS expertise in production environments, including hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating core services such as:EC2, AMIs, and Auto Scaling Groups (ASGs)Application and Network Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), target groups, and health checksRoute 53 DNS management and routing policiesVPC architecture including subnets, NAT gateways, route tables, and VPC endpointsSecurity controls including Security Groups, NACLs, and AWS WAFAdvanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation, including:Modular design and reusable component developmentTemplate parameterization and environment abstractionState management and environment provisioning strategiesImplementation of tagging, configuration, and secrets management standardsStrong CI/CD and source control experience, including:Git-based workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, merge strategies)GitLab (or GitHub) pipeline design and implementation (stages, runners, artifacts)Automated build, test, and deployment pipelinesDeployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling deploymentsProven experience designing and implementing end-to-end cloud solutions, spanning infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and application integrationStrong automation and scripting capabilities, including:Development of automation using Python (including AWS Lambda) or similar languagesAutomating infrastructure provisioning, maintenance, and operational workflowsReducing manual overhead and improving system efficiency through scriptingExperience with platform-level concerns, including:Secrets management, configuration management, and environment standardizationMonitoring, logging, and observability (e.g., CloudWatch or similar tooling)Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues in production environmentsPreferred QualificationsIntegration experience (APIs, SaaS platforms) Strong cost vs performance awarenessAWS Certified DevOps Professional and/or AWS Certified Solutions Professional certificationsAbility to simplify over-engineered systemsEnterprise environment experience Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $120,000 – $150,000Annual Performance Bonus EligibleMedical, dental, vision401(k) with matchPTO + company holidaysLife insurance, disability, EAPProfessional development opportunitiesWorking EnvironmentOnsite employees– As a condition of youremploymentwith ACN, Inc, youwillbe required to work onsite at our designated office orfacility.When considering this position, please be awarethat you will be expected to perform your duties at our physical location as outlined in your offer ofemployment,Weunderstand circumstances may require temporary remote work arrangements and exceptions may be granted on acase-by-case basis.
