Job Description:Job OverviewThe Associate Database Architect provides technical direction for the development and implementation of database systems. Use a combination of business and technical skills to design efficient, scalable, highly available database applications. Possesses strong technical, organizational and communication skills.Key Responsibilities - Essential FunctionsParticipate in recommendations for new development tools for Data Management areaDevelop training effort for database tools and initiativesDesign, develop and implement complex database systems, programs and applicationsCode review of projectsAttend scrums to help assist with inter-project code and architecture needsWork with IT, PMO and users to identify and develop system requirementsWrite, maintain and review functional and technical specificationsKeeps abreast of evolving Database technologies and best practices and recommend improvements as appropriate.Escalation point for database application issuesPerform optimization of SQL codeLeadership ResponsibilitiesThis position has no managerial responsibilities.Competencies - SkillsWorking knowledge of ETL tools such as SSISWorking knowledge of business intelligence toolsWorking knowledge of database replication, mirroring, backupsA passion for database systemsVery strong problem-solving skillsEducation And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, preferred.Minimum of 4+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL ServerMinimum of 2+ years of experience with T-SQL development.Minimum of 2+ years of experience with tuning and optimizing database performanceCORE VALUESAt Wheels, we believe in fostering a culture that is built on our Core Values and Guiding Principles. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location.
