Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic - $38.05/hr!This position is a direct hire opportunity!Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic for our maritime client to start immediately at $38.05/hr! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!Responsibilities:As a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy mobile equipment, including treaded tire forklifts, used to support daily operations. This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical issues to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will work with various types of machinery such as forklifts, cranes, loaders, and other heavy equipment.In addition to repairs, this position involves planning ahead to meet operational demands by ensuring equipment is available and positioned appropriately. Travel to multiple job sites, including locations within Texas and across the United States, is required. Performance in this role is measured by equipment availability, utilization, and the timely completion of work orders.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy mobile equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety regulations and standards.Perform repairs in both shop and field environments based on maintenance requests.Diagnose and repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems.Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.Utilize diagnostic tools, specialized equipment, and software to identify and resolve mechanical issues.Operate shop equipment including cranes, welders, compressors, presses, grinders, heavy-duty hand tools, and tire service equipment.Safely lift, move, and install heavy parts and assemblies using proper tools and personal protective equipment.Provide guidance and support to other mechanics and technicians when necessary.Stay current with industry developments, equipment updates, and repair techniques through ongoing training and self-directed learning.Location: Chicago, ILSome domestic travel is requiredSchedule/Shift Details: Day shiftWork rotating shifts or weekends as needed.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or a similar role preferred.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems used in heavy mobile equipment.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Must have personal tools required to perform job duties.Required Skills:Ability to repair heavy equipment, including removal and replacement of major components.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.Capability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
