Job#: 3034722Job Description:Senior Field ChemistPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Field Chemist to join our Environmental Services team. This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for the safe handling, sorting, packaging, and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy working outside of a traditional lab setting and thrive in dynamic, customer-facing environments. You will travel to client sites, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and play a critical role in delivering safe and efficient waste management services.Key ResponsibilitiesField OperationsTravel to customer sites across industrial, laboratory, and educational environmentsIdentify, sort, and segregate chemicals by hazard classPerform lab packing and prepare materials for safe transportationCharacterize unknown or mixed waste streams onsiteManage high-hazard materials, including cylinder handlingSafety & ComplianceStrictly adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policiesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, DOT, etc.)Properly label, package, and document materials for transportationMaintain accurate documentation, including manifests, LDRs, and billing documentsLogistics & ExecutionPrepare and transport supplies needed for field projectsEnsure proper placarding and load segregation during transportUtilize internal systems (e.g., HP system) to review waste streams and documentationCustomer EngagementCommunicate effectively with site contacts and stakeholdersProvide updates on project progress and address customer inquiriesBuild strong, professional relationships at customer locationsLeadership & DevelopmentDirect and support Field Technicians and DriversAssist in training and mentoring Field Chemist I and II team membersSupport proposal preparation at an introductory levelQualificationsEducation & ExperienceAssociate’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field (required)Bachelor’s degree (preferred)In lieu of a degree: Minimum of 2+ years of related experience (required)2+ years of experience in lab packing or environmental waste (required)Skills & CapabilitiesStrong understanding of hazardous materials handling and safety practicesAbility to learn and apply environmental regulations and compliance requirementsStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and lead small teams in the fieldAdditional RequirementsValid Driver’s License (required)Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire (required)Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to company standards (required)Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safe practices at all timesWillingness and ability to travel frequently to client sitesAbility to perform physically demanding tasks as requiredReliable attendance and schedule flexibilityImportant: Due to potential exposure to hazardous atmospheres, materials, and waste, this position requires employees to be clean-shaven at all times to ensure proper respirator fit and protection.Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
