Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Onsite – Dalton, Georgia (Near Chattanooga, TN)Department: Engineering & Plant Support ServicesPosition OverviewThis opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer seeking a hands-on role supporting large-scale power generation assets in a dynamic plant environment. The position offers the chance to work directly with operations and maintenance teams at a combined cycle facility, contributing to the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical generation equipment.This role is best suited for engineers who enjoy being close to plant operations, solving real-time technical challenges, and supporting field execution rather than working solely in a corporate office setting.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with plant operations and maintenance personnel to support daily electrical system performance.Lead and assist with electrical maintenance activities, including outages, inspections, and troubleshooting efforts.Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues to improve plant reliability and operational efficiency.Support predictive and preventive maintenance initiatives across plant equipment and systems.Assist with the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical upgrades and modifications.Review electrical drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.Monitor equipment and system performance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.Support capital projects from planning and engineering through implementation and startup.Assist with regulatory compliance activities and associated technical documentation.Required BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology discipline preferred.Several years of experience within power generation or heavy industrial environments.Experience supporting maintenance activities, outages, and/or capital improvement projects.Professional Engineering (PE) registration is considered a plus.Desired Skills & ExperienceStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities within industrial electrical systems.Familiarity with generators, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and related plant equipment.Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance practices.Ability to interpret technical data and implement performance improvements.Knowledge of utility or reliability compliance standards is beneficial.Proficiency with standard engineering software and computer applications.Why Consider This OpportunityHigh-visibility role with direct impact on plant performance and reliability.Opportunity to remain technically hands-on within a collaborative plant environment.Support major generation infrastructure projects and operational initiatives.Enjoy a balanced lifestyle with access to outdoor recreation and a lower-cost living environment compared to larger metropolitan markets.
