STEAM Teacher - Middle SchoolScience, Technology, Engineering, Arts and MathematicsThe Middle School STEAM Teacher will deliver STEAM instruction through project-based learningmethods and collaborate with a dynamic team of educators to provide STEAM relatedexperiences to elementary students. The STEAM teacher's primary role will be to facilitatedevelopmentally appropriate STEAM learning activities, experiences and assessments to foster intellectual, physical and social growth.Qualifications / RequirementsCertified teacherBachelor's Degree( Mathematics and/or Science and/or STEAM preferred or related field of study.Delivers STEAM-oriented instruction (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) through Project-Based Learning methods.Create engaging lessons that integrate technology, science and engineering that also develops student critical thinking and problem solving skills.Demonstrates a vested interest in the success, future and Vision of Renaissance AcademyExcellent oral and written communication skillsPedagogical skills in literacy and numeracyProficiency in Google SuiteCharacteristics of an RA Staff MemberRenaissance Academy views their Teachers as professional, leaders and learners in their classrooms. They are focused on forward planning and aware of how their role fits into the 'bigger scope' of school-wide needs.A team player mindset is necessary and a willingness to open ones door and "bag of tricks" to fellow teachers is essential in our team atmosphere.A "whatever it takes" attitude is necessary to inspire students to learn, improve their character, and achieve their goals.Four Pillars of the Teacher:Leadership: To plan strategically for the long-term and daily learning of their studentsAssessment and Achievement: To be accountable for the achievement of the NWEA growth targets for their students while being aware of school-wide goalsTeaching and Learning: To be responsible for the quality of Teaching and Learning in their classroom, striving for the best outcomes for their students.Unique Experiences : Providing a challenge to each student, each day.Teachers are expected to achieve this through - Daily Monitor and hold students accountable regarding classroom deadlines , expectations and goals / norms of the classroomProvide rigorous and challenging activities and lessons for the students' benefit and are able to differentiate instruction to support struggling learners while challenging quicker learners.Post and review daily learning objectives and agenda with the students in relation to curricula objectivesConduct a warm-up (Do Now) and closing activity each class periodReturn any sort of family or student communication within 48 hoursAssign homework and outside learning activities as needed to reinforce the instruction and/or prepare students for future learning.Weekly Provide guidance toward student goal setting, monitoring of grades and follow-up on MTSS needsCommunicate with co-teachers, team members or admin related to needs of students in classroom settingsCommunicate with families regarding student success and needsUpdate gradebooksAssess students frequently using formative and summative assessmentsMonthly Report concerns and accomplishments to their lead teacher, curriulcm leads and principalsAttend staff meetings once a monthAttend departmental meetings once a month at a time determined by the department (Departmentalized Teachers)Make positive phone calls/emails home to familiesQuarterly Participate in year-long planning by setting house team goals (due each September)Review team Professional Growth Plan with Lead Teacher and Team MembersDevelop SLC comments and student goalsParticipate in SLC conferences once a Trimester from 8AM-8PM Thursday and 8am - 12pm Friday.Yearly Attend a variety of events, performances & family involvement opportunities throughout the school year in support of the staff and students (year-long)Establish year-long personal professional goalsDocument progress on professional goals and present to your team and administratorsCall all Homebase students at the start of the year (if applicable)
