The ideal candidate brings deep strategic expertise, strong client relationship instincts, and the people leadership skills to coach a team and hold the quality of work across the full engagement.Job OverviewSome things you will be responsible for:Lead projects end to end — owning the brief, the team, the client relationship, and the quality of what we deliverShape and challenge briefs with clients before any work begins — define the right problem, not just the presented oneSynthesize across inputs (research, stakeholder knowledge, business context, design thinking) to produce clear strategic directionDeliver audience-aware recommendations that tell stakeholders what to do and make the case for whyLead co-ideation with designers and cross-functional partners throughout the engagement, contributing strategic perspective that shapes product directionMaintain strategic continuity from discovery through delivery, keeping the 'why' intact as the work evolvesOwn client communications across the project, managing expectations and maintaining alignment on goals, timelines, and decisionsCoach and develop more junior team members, including goal-setting, feedback, and skill-buildingBegin building client relationships that extend beyond the current project, establishing Multiplayer as a long-term strategic partnerIdentify opportunities within existing client engagements to expand the partnershipNavigate complex client and team dynamics with tact and emotional intelligenceRequirements7+ years in product strategy, UX strategy, or related strategic rolesAt least 1 year in a people management or mentorship role with direct accountability for someone's growthProven experience owning a full project workstreamTrack record of translating ambiguous briefs into clear strategic recommendations with demonstrated business impactStrong facilitation, storytelling, and senior stakeholder communication skillsUX research fluency requiredPortfolio we can accessMust have a minimum 3-hour overlap with Toronto EDT timezoneOccasional travel may be required depending on project and client needsBenefits$120,000 - $145,000 annuallyWork from AnywhereCompetitive salaryPaid time off (over 20 days) & health benefitsTraining & development opportunities
