5 Axis Programmer

You will frequently work alongside engineers and fellow machinists to create comprehensive fabrication strategies that utilize multiple advanced manufacturing processes. Qualifications Bring over a decade of hands-on experience in simultaneous 5-axis machining, encompassing everything from initial setup and tooling choices to CAM programming and simulation. Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting complex mechanical blueprints and GD&T standards. Showcase the capability to design and build essential fixtures for production. Utilize standard hand tools and measurement devices, including micrometers, calipers, and thread or pin gages, to ensure quality. Apply your background in 3D CAD, CAM platforms, and the MS Office suite to daily tasks. Display a genuine passion for adopting new machine tools and advanced fabrication methodologies. Foster a collaborative atmosphere by working closely with lab staff to overcome complex manufacturing hurdles. Contribute effectively during manufacturability reviews by providing insightful, confident feedback. Drive project success by proactively supporting R&D efforts that advance technologies of national significance. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by keeping your workspace orderly and adhering to all safety standards. Manage physical tasks requiring the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Preferred Expertise Background in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments. Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD systems. Experience utilizing hyperMILL CAM software. Familiarity with m&h on-machine inspection tools. Operational knowledge of the Heidenhain iTNC 530 controller. Experience machining challenging materials like Titanium, Invar, Hastelloy, 17-4 PH, MMCs, or Fiber Reinforced Composites. Experience with digital tools including Model Based Definition and Aras Innovator PLM software. Exposure to ultrasonic machining techniques. This role requires a full-time onsite presence. An interim clearance is all that is needed to begin this role. Core Proficiencies Expertise in CNC Programming. Advanced skills in CAD/CAM software suites.
