At Miraclon, Application Engineering plays a vital role connecting our innovation programs to meet the needs of our customers. This position falls within the Global Product Support function and reports to the Director of Global Product Support. The primary focus of this position is to facilitate the launch of new products, support customer application testing, and the execution of technical marketing activities.
Your Role
Responsible for application engineering test support to drive New Product Introductions (NPI) in collaboration with in-house R&D innovation programs.
Additional responsibilities include product support for customer field escalations, creation of technical procedure documentation, marcomm support, and technical training for internal/external audiences.
Contribute to the development of digital product training tools to support global customer base and regional service teams.
Evaluate and test new prototype technology across all Miraclon technology platforms: software, flexographic plates, imagers, and plate processing equipment.
Tasked with development of application specific lab test methods.
Utilize design of experiments (DOE) methodology and statistical analysis tools to generate data-driven recommendations to support product development programs.
Design, improve, and document application engineering processes with a focus on continuous improvement and best practices.
Effectively collaborate cross-functionally with sales, regional service, marketing, and R&D.
YOUR SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant STEM field.
3+ years general industry experience.
Experience in graphic arts/printing industry ideal but not required.
Comfortable working safely in a laboratory setting, experienced with analytical and processing equipment.
Desired expertise in application engineering, customer technical service, product development, and technical sales.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10-25% domestically with some international.
Experience working in cross-functional teams.
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Competency in Microsoft Office and basic statistical analysis.
