Structural Engineering Drafter

Team members are encouraged to apply practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a professional, deadline-driven environment.Role Description The Structural Engineering Drafter will create and revise detailed structural drawings and documentation based on engineering calculations, design specifications, and architectural plans. This contract, hybrid role is based remotely, depending on project needs and coordination requirements. Daily responsibilities include preparing shop drawings, structural plans, sections, and details; coordinating drawing content with structural engineers and architects; and updating drawings to reflect design changes and RFIs. The drafter will maintain organized project files, ensure drawings comply with relevant codes and standards, and support BIM workflows and model coordination. The role also involves collaborating with project teams to resolve drawing issues, meeting deadlines, and contributing to continuous improvement of drafting standards.QualificationsStrong proficiency in shop drawings and technical drawing, with the ability to interpret and translate engineering and architectural information into clear, buildable plans.Experience producing architectural drawings and coordinating them with structural requirements to ensure consistency and constructability.Solid understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, including structural systems, materials, and relevant building codes and standards.Hands-on experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows, such as Revit or similar platforms, for 3D modeling and coordination. (Not required, but good to have)Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and common office tools for documentation and communication.Strong attention to detail, accuracy in dimensioning and notation, and ability to follow established drafting standards.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with engineers, architects, and contractors in a hybrid work environment.Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field; experience in structural or construction drafting is preferred.Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a contract-based setting.
