Client Accounting Manager (Remote - USA only)

Exciting opportunity with our tight-knit team of 6 serving our monthly CAS clients across diverse industries. We are a fast growing firm focused on leading business clients through the challenges of ownership. This high-impact remote role lets you focus on results, not hours tracked. We're looking for a process-savvy leader to own client financials, streamline operations, and drive meaningful improvements!Key Responsibilities (30% hands-on, 70% strategic oversight across even client load): - Own full-cycle client financials across accounts: AP/AR, bank reconciliations, budgeting/forecasting, month-end closes, P&L/balance sheet/cash flow reporting, payroll processing, sales tax compliance. - Mentor and elevate 2 in-house bookkeepers (one is a sales tax/payroll specialist) with best practices. - Develop, standardize, and optimize scalable processes for accuracy and efficiency. - Light-touch client coordination (questions only as needed); CPAs handle primary client relationships. - Seasonal tax support (client documents tax ready and return data entry as needed)—not core responsibility. Must-Have Skills (Show us what you've got—years flexible): - Deep understanding and command of how financial statements interconnect. - Proven oversight in payroll, sales tax compliance, and client financial management. - Process improvement passion: Spot inefficiencies, build better workflows. - Natural mentoring ability with junior staff. - QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency to hit the ground running. - Comfortable with video conferencing (Zoom/Teams) for team syncs and CPA/client check-ins. Preferred Qualifications: - TaxDome or similar practice management experience. - Multi-state sales tax or trades industry knowledge. - Payroll systems experience (e.g. QBO, Gusto, OnPay, ADP). - Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
