SQL Database Administrator

Job Title: DBA SQL ContractorType of Employment: ContractorLocation: RemoteCompany: American IT SourcingSalary: $60,000 MXP NET As contractor (NO BENEFITS)General Purpose:American IT Sourcing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in SQL to join our IT team. This fully remote contract position is designed for a professional who excels in managing, optimizing, and ensuring the security of database solutions.Key Responsibilities:Implement, configure, and troubleshoot database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage, and access.Set up database systems for optimal performance and reliability.Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.Develop and maintain comprehensive database documentation.Work closely with development teams to optimize database queries and integrate services.Ensure database security by managing user access and privileges.Perform regular tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.Proven work experience as a SQL Database Administrator.Strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles, and practices.Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications.Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.Experience with database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.Knowledge of reporting tools and software.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Additional Skills (Preferred, but not required):Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server or other relevant areas.Familiarity with web-based tools and software development environments.
