Site Director – Conrad Schools of Science (Summer Programming)Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time (6 Weeks, 40 Hours/Week)Location: Conrad Schools of ScienceOrganization: Cab Calloway School Fund / SMArtSummerRole Description:The Cab Calloway School Fund / SMArtSummer is seeking a highly organized and proactive Site Director to manage daily operations for our summer enrichment and career exploration programming at Conrad Schools of Science. The Site Director serves as the on-site leader responsible for staffing, logistics, student experience, and coordination with school partners to ensure a safe, engaging, and well-run program environment.This role is ideal for a strong operations-focused leader who enjoys managing people, schedules, systems, and fast-paced program logistics while supporting arts, science, and CTE-based learning experiences. Site Director is under the leadership of the Executive Director (ED) of the Cab Calloway School Fund and reports directly to the ED.Responsibilities:Program OperationsOversee all daily site operations for a 5-week, full-day summer program, with one week of preparations prior to camp start.Manage daily attendance and distribute materials to class rooms prior to the start of each campEnsure smooth daily flow between arrival, meals, activities, and dismissal.Maintain safety protocols and compliance with organizational and school policies.Reports directly to the executive director with daily verbal reports and weeks end written report.Staff & Volunteer ManagementSupport teachers, teaching artists, and high school volunteers.Provide clear expectations, guidance, and on-site problem-solving support.Serve as the primary point of contact for staff concerns and needs.Student Experience & SafetySupport positive behavior systems and student supervision.Respond to student issues, conflicts, and family communication as needed.Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students.Communication & PartnershipServe as liaison between SMArtSummer/Cab Calloway School Fund and Conradadministration.Communicate with families regarding attendance, schedules, and programupdates.Coordinate with food service, facilities, and school partners as needed.Logistics & MaterialsOversee distribution and care of supplies, technology, and equipment.Track needs, troubleshoot issues, and communicate purchasing requests.Ensure classrooms and shared spaces are set up and reset weekly.Program Support & DocumentationTrack attendance, incidents, and daily reports.Support showcases and exhibitions.Provide feedback to leadership for continuous program improvement.QualificationsHigh school diploma and two years college coursework required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. (or equivalent experience).2+ years of experience in youth programs, camps, schools, or enrichmentenvironments.Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or volunteers.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to manage logistics, schedules, and multiple moving parts.Clear communicator with students, families, staff, and partners.Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or similar applications)Calm, solution-oriented approach in fast-paced environments.Experience working with diverse student populations of all ages.Commitment to safe, inclusive, and student-centered programming.Ability to meet background check and district requirements.CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
