General Laborer
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for completing assigned process per print, meeting scheduled due dates
Inspecting incoming parts/materials against prints prior to beginning production marking and segregating any non-conforming parts and notifying Materials Manager for disposition
Inspecting at least every 5 parts run at each station, maintaining 1/32th tolerance unless otherwise specified notifying Operations Specialist of all rejects
Setting up and running equipment to ensure that parts are completed per schedule
Drilling, braking, sawing, welding, stamping, powder coating and rolling production processes
Working with management on reworks and rejects as necessary
Verifying that product numbers are on each part/run of the parts
Completing final inspection against prints prior to sending to next work process
Ensuring that all job travelers are scanned and scrapped parts (and or additional parts) are indicated with scan and reported to Materials Manager
Maintaining tools and equipment per PM process
Notifying Team Leader of supplies and tools needed in work area
Pushing orders through shop as directed by the work queue
Maximizing material and supply usage
Notifying management of any circumstances that could result in failure to meet due dates
Keeping work area clean and organized per LEAN directives
Participating in all scheduled safety meetings and following IOSHA guidelines daily
Completing quality control visual inspection training, forklift operations training, and LOTO training
Participating in all staff meetings as required
Other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to interpret blueprints
Working knowledge of sheet metal
Ability to identify steel thicknesses
Working knowledge of bending deductions
Attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational skills.
Exemplary customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. (Orders are built to contain customization based on customer requests.)
Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Regular and reliable attendance
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with
limited standardization
Education
High school diploma or GED.
General knowledge of steel fabrication
Computer/Technology skills are required
Willingness to learn new skills and programs
Work Environment
Employee will frequently be exposed to work near moving machinery and mechanical parts.
Requires frequent standing and walking for up to 10 hours per day.
Physically able to operate a forklift.
Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
