Responsibilities:
Supervise daily delivery operations, including dispatching drivers, routing, and equipment utilization
Train, coach, and retain drivers while ensuring compliance with safety standards and Hours-of-Service regulations
Analyze routes and recommend improvements to reduce delivery time, mileage, and operational costs
Monitor driver performance, productivity, and customer service standards, providing coaching as needed
Coordinate and oversee daily transportation activities to ensure all routes depart on time
Maintain safety and sanitation standards for all vehicles, including DVIR compliance and inspections
Participate in driver meetings and communicate key operational updates and expectations
Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies
Partner with Transportation Manager and HR on performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions
Track and improve KPIs related to safety, efficiency, and service levels
Assist in covering routes when necessary to maintain service continuity
Required Experience:
3+ years of transportation or logistics experience within foodservice or distribution environments
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements
Proven leadership experience with the ability to supervise, train, and develop teams
Experience with route planning, dispatching, and fleet utilization
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience:
Valid CDL Class A license preferred
Experience with routing systems such as Roadnet
Bachelor's degree or equivalent supervisory experience
Background in high-volume food distribution or similar logistics environments
